Sassafras. This species is part of the Lauraceae family of trees and native to eastern North America and parts of Asia. Latin name is Sassafras Albidum. The Sassafras is unique in that the same tree can present three different shapes of leaves - unlobed oval, bilobed (mitten-shaped) and trilobed (three-pronged or “ghost” shaped).
